Marking the tenth annivers-
ary of the passing of Dr. Hayim
Greenberg, Rabbi Morris Ad-
ler will devote his sermon, at
services this Sabbath, at Con-
gregation ShaLrey Zedek, to
the memory of the distinguish-
ed labor Zionist leader.
Dr. Adler's sermon will be
"an appraisal of
Dr. Greenberg's
rich and endur-
ing meaning
f o r American
and Israeli
Jewry."
Dr. Green-
erg, as editor
of the labor
Zionist publica-
tions was, Rab-
bi Adler stated
in announcing
his sermon, "a
Dr. Greenberg man of a broad
universal outlook and a deeply
religious spirit. Esthete and in-
tellectual, gifted orator and
writer, he was the great ethical
personality of the world Zion-
ist movement and the spiritual
leader of Labor Zionism. At
home in many cultures and
languages, he was deeply root-
ed in the Jewish tradition. His
written legacy comprises thus
far one English volume, "The
Inner Eye," and three bboks

man loomed larger than his
works and his life constitutes
an ethical will of supreme

Senate Gets Bill
to Reduce Postage
for Religious Books

WASHINGTON, (JTA)—Sen-
ator Hugh Scott, Pennsylvania
Republican, said in a Senate
speech that new second class
postal rates for religious in-
struction publications are "con-
fiscatory" and he introduced a
bill to reduce such rates.
The senator said the effect of
the postal rate increase was to
elevate the cost of classroom
publications used by the vari-
ous faiths in churches and syn-
agogues. "These publications
are in enough financial diffi-
culties," he stated. "The en-
ormous increase of rates would
put many of them out of busi-
ness and thus deprive thou-
sands of dedicated Sunday
school teachers of valuable
tools of instruction." He asked
other senators to join in co-
sponsoring his measure.
