MRS. ALAN R. BROWN

Temple Israel in Hollywood,
Calif. was the setting for the
recent wedding of Linda Dorf,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul
Dorf, and Alan Ronald Brown,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
Brown of Inglewood, Calif., for-
merly of Detroit. Rabbi William
Kramer and Cantor Saul Silver-
man officiated at the double ring
ceremony.
The bride wore a floor-length
gown of silk peau de soie with
a chantilly lace bodice. Her veil
of French silk illusion net cas-
caded from a lace and seed
pearl pillbox. She carried a bou-
quet of white orchids and roses.
Mrs. Jay Goldberg was matron
of honor and Susan Brown, sister
of the bridegroom, was maid of
honor. Bridesmaids were Bar-
bara Weiner, Rosalie Klein and
Sylvia Zelman. Stuart Brown
served his brother as best man.
Ushers were Dr. Kenny Gaines,
Dr. Danny Greenson, Paul Gold-
enberg and Bill IVIerkelson.
Following a honeymoon in
Carmel and San Francisco, Calif.,
the newlyweds are residing in
Inglewood.

Cross Month. Robert T. Ross,

Cross Chapter, says that local
observances of the occasion will
highlight the 100th anniversary
of the Red Cross movement and
a series of reports to the people
of the community who provide
funds for its services through
contributions to the United
Foundation Torch Drive. There
will be no solicitation of funds
in the Detroit Metropolitan
area.
Last year the Detroit Chap-
ter assisted 16,447 service per-
sonnel and 1,736 veterans and
their families. Twenty eight
Volunteers gave 3,920 hours
service working with profes-
sional staff to solve military
duty-related , problems. Verify-
ing information to complete
government reports and records
or for commanding officers in
emergency leave requests was
