' Suggestions Invited on Zionists' Israel Independence_ Program Plans for the forthcoming city- wide celebration of the 15th anni- versary of Israel's independence will be one of the principal items to be discussed at a special meeting of the Zionist Council of Detroit noon Wednesday at the Jewish Community Council offices. Rabbi Leon Fram, Zionist Council chairman, said this will be a luncheon meeting. The Detroit celebration will be held on April 28 at Mumford High School. A prominent Israeli diplomat will deliver the keynote address. There will also be an artistic program. Dr. Fram stated he would welcome suggestions from the community as a whole regarding the pro g r win. June graduating class have been get- ting underway under the aus- pices of the newly elected class officers and the committee chairmen. The officers are President Mickey Eisenberg, Vice-Presi- dent Marty Katz, Secretary Vicki Miller, and Treasurer Ross Fridson. One of the. first senior class activities is the annual Sadie Hawkins Dance which will be held on April 5 in the Mumford gym. May 29 and Memorial Day weekend has been selected as the time for the annual senior class trip to Washington, D. C. The Mumiord Parents Club has taken over the Vanguard Theater on May 7 for their an- nual fund-raising effort. The play "Little Mary Sunshine" is a musical which satirizes the old-time operettas. Proceeds raised by this event will be used primarily for providing scholarships for needy and qualified- seniors. Wednesday, will be de- voted to a discussion of the basic required subjects that stu- dents must have in order to graduate and to qualify for whatever field they plan to en- ter, dr for college. Several of the department heads will be prepared to an- swer questions and discuss problems. This meeting will be valuable for students who will be preparing their programs for next semester in the near fu- ture and they are urged to at- tend with their parents. Donald J.
