Noted Artist Katz
Speaks at U-M Hillel
When Nazi forces laid waste
the Jewish quarters of the
Polish town of Tomaszow-
Lubelski in September and Oc-
tober 1942, only a handful of
Jews escaped the massacre.
World Jewish Congress head-
quarters in New York is at-
tempting to trace about 20 men
and women who are believed
to have survived the horror of
the Nazi attack. They are need-
ed by the West German author-
ities to give evidence against
a number of Nazis who are now
being charged with participa-
tion in the murders.
One of the witnesses sought
is Zawel Weltman, whose pres-
ent whereabouts are unknown
but who, in 1947, was a DP in
U. S. No. 1
