Mrs. Edelson will serve as the committee's consultant on practical nurse education. The committee is co-sponsored by the Department of Health, Edu- cation and Welfare and the Na- tional League for Nursing. The committee will visit the Shapero School next month and then, with Mrs. Edelson, will examine facilities at several other institutions across the country. The long-range goal is to develop a guide to assist hos- pitals, vocational schools, col- leges and universities in plan- ning the educational facilities necessary to conduct a program in nursing. Mrs. Edelson first was ap- pointed to Sinai's staff in 1953, when the hospital opened, as di- rector of nursing. She formerly was director of nursing service at Mt. Carmel Mercy Hospital.
