present a concert of contempo-
rary music 8:30 p.m. Tuesday
at the Detroit Institute of Arts,
announces Marguerite Kozenn
Chajes, program chairman. Music
by Greek, Hungarian, Austrian
and Italian composers will be
performed for the first time in
the United States. Among the
participating a r t i s t s will be
Maria Roumell, soprano; Emily
Mutter Austin, Abraham and
Elaine Mishkind, violinists; Ar-
thur Bachman and Mario Di-
Fiore, cellists; - Mary Norris and
Robert Bates, pianists; Meyer
Shapiro, violist; and Susan Fries,
flutist. Co-Sponsors of the con-
cert are the Detroit Public Li-
brary, the United Community
Services of Metropolitan Detroit,
The Federation of Musicians,
The International Institute, The
Italian - American Cultural So-
ciety and the Hellenic Federa-
tion. Following the concert, there
will be an afterglow in honor
of Howard P. Greene, president
of the Detroit Federation of Mu-
sicians, in the American Room
of the International Institute.
Admission to the concert is free.
