Ruling of Canadian Court Validates Hillel to Honor
Bequest of $350,000 to JNF

VICTORIA, B.C. (JTA) — A
Supreme Court Justice here has
ruled valid the will of a bach-
elor who le f t - most of • his
$350,000 estate to the Jewish
National Fund to be used to
buy land in Israel for establish-
ment of a Jewish colony.
The ruling was made by Jus-
tice R. A. Wooton in rejecting
challenges to the will of re-
latives of Frank Schechter, a
bachelor, who died May 2, 1961,
aged 74. The relatives all live
in the United States.,

The Jewish National Fund an-
nounces receipt of a bequest of
$100,000 from the will of Isaac
and Sarah Solomon of Winnipeg,
Canada, for the establishment of
a Nachla on the outskirts of Tel
Aviv to link their names with
Israel.
Mr. and Mrs. SOlomon came
to Winnipeg from Dombrowitz,
Wohlynia, in 1930. Ardent Zion-
ists from their early youth, they
continued to work on behalf of
Israel and the JNF and were
active in Winnipeg Jewish com-
munal projects.

Borough Council refused Tues-
day to withdraw permission to
Fascist leader Oswald Mosley
to hold a meeting in Kensing-
ton Town Hall next Monday de-
spite protests from the Yellow
Star Anti-Fascist Movement.
Yellow Star officials said
they would sponsor a silent
demonstration around the town
