to Address Council
of Jewish Women

Dr. Herbert Blooin, chief of
the division of dental and oral
surgery at Sinai Hospital, will
speak at a dessert luncheon
meeting of the Detroit Section
of the National Council of Jew-
ish Women 12:30 p.m. March 4
at Shaarey Zedek Synagogue.
Bloom will relate his experi-
ences on the Hope Ship. Dr.
Bloom's special interest is to
establish a program of dental
internship, . providing advanced
training for foreign dental grad-
uates.

the symbolism of mysticism, de-

"The Jewish mystic devel-
oped metaphysics so that every
fragment of it is a spark of the
divine fire and every clinker
has some glow of the divine,"
Prof. Kaplan said. "Even the
most trivial thus become en-
dowed with greater signific-
ance."
His address was anecdotal
and he told numerous Hasidic
tales and parables which de-
lighted the audience.
His paeans to Hasidism were'
marked by his evaluation of
Psychiatric approaches today
with those which proved so pow-
erful in the Hasidic movement.
Jewish mysticism, he stated,
"has the capacity to share in
the work of Creation." He added
that Hasidism came with a mes-
sage that no one is superior,
that when two Jews stand side
by side in equality there is the
Shekhina."
Prof. Kaplan was introduced
by Dr. Martin Naimark. Brief
addresses were delivered at the
dinner by Dr. Aaron Blake,
president of Alpha Omega, who
spoke of the fraternity's deep
interest in Jewish communal
affairs, and Dr. Henry Green,
the fraternity's new regent. The
invotion and the reciting of the
Hamotzi was by Dr. Emanuel
Feldman.
