Mr. and • Mrs. Sol Ager and son Irv, of Huntington Woods
recently left for a visit with their children and grandsons, Mr.
and Mrs. Conrad Sikora, formerly of Marlowe Ave., Oak Park,
now residing in Riverside, Calif. The Agers will also visit Mr.
and Mrs. William Braun and Mrs. , Pearl Ager in Phoenix, Ariz.
Mrs. Pearl Ager of Kentucky Ave is spending the winter in
Phoenix with her daughter Mrs. Braun and family.
The 25th anniversary of the Ordin Family Club was cele-
brated recently honoring Minnie Sosin with a plaque as its
founder. Sol Bloom was honored as honorary president. The
presentations were made by Max Sosin.
Klein Family Club will meet Saturday at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Andrew Berger, 18950 Whitcomb.

Twenty-four giants and their
miniature master will sing the
beautiful songs of a Russia that
no longer exists, March 9, when
Serge Jaroff brings his DON
COSSACK SINGERS and DANC-
ERS to the Masonic Auditorium.
The Russian chorus was actu-
ally born in Bulgaria, after the
revolution, where the stateless
White Russians were living a
life of poverty. Their voices and
traditional songs of old Russia
were just about their only pos-
sessions and their only solace.

Esther Contest

Sponsorship of an internation-
al Queen Esther Beauty Contest
has just been announced by La
Isha—Miss Israel, Ltd.
Mrs. Hemda Nofech-Mozes,
editor-in-chief of La Isha, states
that headquarters for the con-
test will be at the Israel worn-
en's weekly offices,- 4 Arnon St.,
Tel Aviv. -
Its purpose is to find "the
most beautiful Jewish girl in
the world." Actual competitions
will be held during the Sukkot
holiday. Co-sponsors of the proj-
ect are the Government of Is-
rael Tourist Office, the Jewish
National Fund, Zim lines and
El Al airlines.
Jewish organizations all over
the world are urged to sponsor
contests to have a representa-
tive from their localities. Or-
ganizers of the international
contest suggest that the local
sponsoring groups hold public
dances as a means to select a
candidate.
Candidates should be single,
17-23, and in addition to beauty,
possess a standard of educa-
tion and intelligence.
Those selected to be contest-
ants will be provided a round-
trip ticket to and from Mar-
seilles, which will be the
reunion ' center of all candi-
dates from Europe and the
United States. The Zim Israel
Navigation Company flagship
will take them to Israel.

Planning Activities

Anyone interested in helping
to plan programs to satisfy the
social and cultural needs of sin-
gle Jewish adults, 21-35, is in-
vited to contact Sharon Gaines
of the Jewish Center Social Sin-

The group is looking for new
committee members to help plan
its activities for the year. Com-

Peter, Paul and Mary, Folk
Music Trio, will appear in a con-
cert at the Masonic Auditorium
Saturday evening. Peter is PETER
YARROW, a native New Yorker,
who earned a degree in psychol-
ogy at Cornell University and
got his start singing at the Israeli
Coffee House in New York. Paul
is NOEL STOOKEY, who grew
up in Birmingham, Mich., where
he thumped an electric guitar
for a high school rock 'n' roll
band called "The Birds of Para-
dise." MARY (TRAVERS), born
in Louisville, came to New York,
was in the chorus of "The Next
President," with Mort Sahl.

Jewish Home for Aged
Women's Group to Be
Feted at Buffet-Dance

The board of directors of the
, Jewish Home for Aged will
honor the Service Group of the
Women's Auxiliary on March
3 at a buffet supper and dance.
In announcing this eleventh
annual a f f a i r, Edward I.
Fleischman, president, paid
tribute to the loyalty and de-
votion shown by these volun-
teers. Their work in recreation,
the sheltered workshop, hobby
shops and physio-therapy de-
partment add an extra dimen-
sion to rehabilitation efforts,
he said.
Special recognition is to be
given Mrs. Jack Fishman, presi-
dent of the Women's Auxiliary.
Certificates are to be awarded
for the completion of 100' vol-
l
unteer hours while those who
have served 300 hours will re-
ceive pins. Charms are to be
bestowed on Mrs. Minnie Aaron
and Mrs. Rose Lichtman who
have given more than 1,000
hours of volunteer service.
