its members the discipline that they
refuse to officiate at religious ceremonies
such as weddings or Bar Mitzvahs where
non-Kosher meals are served.

We, the members of the Council of
Orthodox Rabbis have based our action
on the following principle:

itual side of man's being, but even
with our physical beings.

The wedding or Bar-Mitzvah is a
service of consecration to G d; to
follow it with a non-Kosher meal
makes a mockery of the religious
ceremony; any 'Rabbi who partici-
pates gives sanction to this trans-
gression.

We therefore appeal to the public
to refrain from this practice, and we in-
vite all Rabbis who cherish basic Jewish
ideas to join with us. The Kosher caterers
of Detroit are in a position to service all
the needs of the public. Let us then re-
frain from the public desecration of the
hallowed laws of Kashruth.
