Billing Squabble
Solved by Star

The story is told of two Yid-
dish actors who were having an
argument about their names in
the marquee lights. One thought
his name should appear two
inches bigger than the second.
They finally brought the matter
before the more celebrated
Rudolph Schildkraut, asking
how he thought the names
should appear in the lights.
"They should do," said Schild-
kraut, "like they do in Ger-
many."
"How do they do in Ger-
many?" he was asked.
"In Germany," said Schild-
kraut, "there is just the name
Rudolph Schildkraut."

Israel Boxer Garby
Coming to the U.S.

George Sheppard, who is the
president of the New York Box-
ing Manager's Association, has
written to Samuel Caplan, editor
of Congress Bi-Weekly, about an
Israeli prize fighter:
"I am importing an Israeli
boy who is a boxer and whose
name is Nissem Garby, who is
undefeated in 70 bouts and on
November 30 knocked out an
Arab named Olig Chriten, who
has 15 pounds on Nissem, but
our boy kayoed him in one
round."
Garby is due to arrive in the
United States this month.
Israel has a number of pretty
good athletes, but no boxers of
real quality. Sheppard, however,
is a veteran handler of fighters,
and it is possible he has a live
one in the young Israeli. It would
be interesting to see how he
makes out in the U.S., with
skilled handling and training.
In Israel itself, the recent pro-
fessional show starring 'Al-
phonse Halimi didn't do well
financially, and so it is difficult
for a fighter of promise to get
experience in Israel. Who, after
all, has he got to do battle
against? In this country, the
opportunities are greater. In
time, we may all hear of him.
Meanwhile, file the n a m e:

Finnish Mission School
In Jerusalem Intervenes
For Yeshiva Students
JERUSALEM, (JTA) - Offi-
cials of the Finnish Mission
school in Jerusalem asked po-
lice to drop charges against
nine yeshiva students who were
arrested in the stoning of the
school on Jan. 3.
The students were held on
charges of going on an anti-
missionary rampage, along with
50 others, smashed windows in
the Finnish school and in the
Zion Christian mission. The
Finnish school officials told po-
lice that according to the tenets
of their Christian sect, authori-
ties should not be asked to act
against those harming the sect.

Azores Lauds JWB

LAJES AIR BASE, Azores-
Among the large U.S. military
and civilian population here, an
active Jewish group carries on
religious, cultural and social ac-
tivities.
Air Force Major Bernard
Greene, chairman of the group,
has written to the National Jew-
ish Welfare Board (JWB) to
tell about it.
"Ours is a small group of 40
people, including children," he
writes. "We have Air Force of-
ficers and enlisted men, Army
and Navy personnel and Ameri-
can civilians. We have a fairly
active program and we are as-
sisted greatly by Chaplain (Maj.)
Benjamin J. Shin (a non-Jew)
and we have services periodic-
ally, which I conduct.
"The efforts of the National
Jewish Welfare Board on our
behalf are appreciated greatly;
we feel very strongly about your
work and your kindnesses. The
highlight of our religious activi-
ties of course are the High Holy
Days and Passover, when JWB
arranges for a rabbi to visit
Lajes. From time to time we
receive religious and cultural
items from the JWB Women's
Organizations' Services. We can-
not tell you how appreciative we
are of the fine work done by
this g r o u p. The paper-bound
books we received recently are
now part of a Jewish shelf in
the Base Library."
Major Green continues, telling
how the Jewish chaplain sent by
JWB during the High Holy Days
not only conducted services for
Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur,
but spent the period between
the two holidays in giving talks
on Judaism and providing per-
sonal counsel.

Shrinks Hemorrhoids
Without Surgery

Stops Itch-Relieves Pain

For the first time science has found
a new healing substance with the as-
tonishing ability to shrink hemor-
rhoids and to relieve pain - without
surgery. In case after case, while
gently relieving pain, actual reduc-
tion (shrinkage) took .place. Most
amazing of all - results were so thor-
ough that sufferers made astonishing
statements like "Piles have ceased to
be a problem!" The secret is a new
healing substance (Bio-D yne®)-dis-
covery of a world-famous research
institute. This substance is now avail-
able in suppository or ointment form
called Preparation H®. At all drug
'punters.
