published by Knopf, containing
an account of "the trial of
Adolf Eichmann for his crimes
against the Jewish people and
against humanity."
Lord Russel, who has distin-
guished himself as one of the
most outspoken opponents of
anything resembling Nazism
and Fascism, and whose book
"The Scourge of the Swastika"
was a contrib-
uting factor in
exposing t h e
Nazi menace
to the world,
does more in
his book than
merely provide
the record of
the Eichmann
trial. While
accomplishing
that task with
considerable
skill he also
has established
a record of the Lord Russell
country-by-country crimes coin-
milted by Nazi Germany.

cial publication of the Eich-
mann . trial record, the Lord
Russell compilation presents
it, through a selection of the
major factors in the historic
case, with reliability and ac-
curacy. Having attended the
trial, the eminent British
author is exceptionally well
qualified to write on the case,
its history, its witnesses, the
background of the capture of
Eichmann and the debate that
ensued in the United Nations
when Argentina protested
against the kidnaping.

William J. Hassan, rejected an
appeal by leading citizens of the
three major faiths to designate
George Lincoln Rockwell's
American Nazi Party headquart-
ers here as a public nuisance.
The civic group, known as
"Citizens Converned," submitted
data showing that the Nazi
headquarters here was the base
of 26 crimes in the last two
years and constitutes a public
nuisance of a nature prohibited
under Virginia law: six of the
Nazi crimes, including assaults
and satutory rape, took place on
the premises of the headquar-
ters.
In rfeusing to take action
against the Nazi headquarters,

no legal grounds on which to
proceed. He said the evidence
was inadequate to obttain a
public nuisance finding, and that
he h a d sought unsuccessfully
three years ago to get a similar
conviction. Leading citizen s,
however, pointed out that crim-
inal convictions subsequent to
the earlier public nuisance issue
made the charge clearly applic-
able today.
