State University have been pub-
lished by the WSU Press for
10 years. The newest of the
series, Volume XI, has just
been issued by the university
press under the title "The
Horizons of Man."

Miss Edman, who is on the
WSU faculty, states in her pre-
face: "I am grateful that the
lecturers uniformly voiced
optimism and quiet courage,
that though the goals remain
far in the Horizon, they are
still clearly sighted and con-
tinue to be the lodestars by
which our main course is
directed."

Aaron Synagogue, Wyoming at
Thatcher, next Tuesday, 12:30
p.m.
Mrs. George Lerner, -d onor
chairman, and all division chair-
men, will announce the results
of the donor campaign to date.
M r s. Irving Arlin, program
chairman, announces that the
latest movie from Israel, "Glori-
ous Galilee," will be shown. A
dessert luncheon will be served
by the social hostesses, Mesdames
Abraham Goldstein, Louis Ger-
mansky and Jules London.
Hostesses for the afternoon
are Mesdames Nathan Rosin,
Maurice Schubiner, Maurice
Levy, Irving Bloom, Samuel Ko-
baker,. Leo Lesser, Percy Kaplan,
Morris Davis and Jack Grossbart.
Sobeloff to Speak
at Community Council
Delegate Assembly
Stanley J. Winkelman, presi-
dent of the Jewish Community
Council, announced Isidore So-
beloff will be speaker at the mid-
winter delegate assembly Jan. 17
at the Jewish Center.
Mrs. Philip Bernstein is chair-
man of the Delegate Assembly
Planning Conunittee. Sobeloff is
executive vice-president of De-
troit's Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion and chief professional offi-
cer of the Allied Jewish Cam-
paign. He will speak on "The
Dimensions of Change in Jewish
Community Services."
In keeping with the "Then
and Now" theme of the Coun-
cil's 25th anniversary year, So-
beloff will examine community
changes throughout the last 25
years as they relate to health
care, provision for the aged,
family counseling, recreation,
education, employment, com-
munity relations and assistance
to the needy. He will relate the
significant changes in these
areas to the broader spectrum
of Jewish community life. A dis-
cussion will follow Sobeloff's
address.
Other agenda items for the
forthcoming assembly include
remarks on the 25th anniversary
celebration by James I. Elliman,
past presildent of the Council,
and a report by Walter E.
Klein, executive director of the
Council, on civil rights legis-
lative prospects and changing
patterns of race relations.

Re-Elected to Board
of Home Loan Bank
Two prominent Detroit savings
and Loan association officials
have been re-elected to the board
of directors of the Federal Home
Loan Bank of Indianapolis.
They are Robert J. Hutton,
president of Standard Federal
Savings and Loan Association,
and Hans Gehrke, Jr., president
of First Federal Savings and
Loan Association, the leading
Michigan savings and loan asso-
ciations and two of the largest
in the nation.
The Federal Home Loan Bank
of Indianapolis is one of the 11-
member banks in the Home Loan
Bank System and is the regu-
latory body for 236 savings and
loan association members in Mich-
igan and Indiana.
With on increase of $37,865,-
929.64 in 1962, Standard Fed-
eral's total assets reached the all-
time high of $232,432,549.88. At
the same time, the Association
added $1,896,286.42 to reserves,
bringing them to a current level
of $17,882,326.67.
