Synagogue, will bring together
for luncheon the leaders of 18
synagogues throughout the state
to discuss the Seminary's Na-
tional Enrollment Plan.
A statewide committee, headed
by D avid Safran, conference
chairman, is now in formation.
Co-chairmen are Max H. _Gold-
smith, Michigan chairman fir
the National Enrollment Plan,
and T. George Sternberg of Bay
City, who is president of the
Michigan Region for U n i t e d
Synagogue.
A leading Jewish educator, Dr.
Greenberg is vice-president of
faculties of the Seminary. He
was rabbi of Har Zion Temple,
Philadelphia, from 1925-1946;
served as provost of the Semi-
nary from 1946-1951, a acting
president of the Seminary for
the academic year 1948-1949, and
from 1950 to 1953 was execu-
tive director of the United Syna-
gogue of America. Since 1932
he has been professor of educa-
tion at the Seminary and in 1948
was named professor of homi-
letics at the Seminary's Rabbini-
cal School.
Dr. Greenberg has served as
president of the Rabbinical As-
sembly of America, president of
the Philadelphia branch of
United Synagogue and of the
Philadelphia Board of Jewish
Ministers. He was one of.. the
hia
founders of the Philadelp
Psychiatric Hospital. He also
served as president of the Phila-
delphia Zionist Organization and
as chairman of the National Ed-
ucation Committee of the Zionist
Organization of America.
He is the author of "Living as
a Jew Today," the "Ideals and
Values of the Jewish Prayer
Book," the Harishon series of
text books for use in elemen-
tary Hebrew education, "The
First Year in the Hebrew School:
A Teachers Guide," as well as
a series of brochures on the Con-
servative movement in Judaism.

The Hanukah program of the
Livonia Jewish Congregation Re-
ligious School will be held 10:30
a.m. Sunday in the United He-
brew School building, 31840 W.
Seven Mile.
Included will be a play, songs
and community singing. Parents,
members and friends of the Li-
vonia Jewish Congregation are
invited to attend. The program
is under the direction of Mrs.
Ruth . Raimi and Dr. and Mrs.
Morton Knopper.
