Pageantry Marks Hanukah in Israel JERUSALEM, (JTA) — Some 2,500 members of the Maccabi Sports Club participated in the traditional Hanukah procession of torch-bearers, a relay event starting at Modiin, the birth- place of the Maccabees, and terminating at the home of President Izhak Ben-Zvi in Jerusalem. Parades were also held in Tel Aviv and Haifa, where torch- bearers passed through the main streets lined with thou- sands of Israeli schoolchildren. Other ceremonies were held at the graveside of the late Presi- dent Chaim Weizmann in Reho- vot, in Ramat Gan and at Eilat. Some 60,000 tourists and oth- er visitors are spending Hanu- kah in Eilat, at the southern- most tip of Israel's Negev. It will consist of a free-standing, two-level facility which will not only house the extensive book and journal col- lection provided by the medical staff of the hospital, but will include study carrels for contin- uing projects. Included on the main level will be a special con- ference room where the rare medical book collection of the hospital will be housed.
