acceptance is the need for our
type of care. A person to be ad-
mitted must be a Detroit resi-
dent for three years, and our
first consideration in admitting
him is that he is a person with-
out money or relatives who
needs our home."
The several speakers who
addressed Monday's dinner
meeting joined in praising.
Leonard Simons for his dedi-
cated efforts in assuring the
success of this drive. All
agreed that he had performed
admirably and that the cur-
rent effort was in fact a one-
man drive. Max M. Fisher,
as president of the Jewish
Welfare Federation, called
him "a man with a driving
force."
Referring to the functions of
the capital needs committee of
the Federation, which is pro-
viding the $1,100,000 towards
the new building, Fisher spoke
of the expanding program for
the Home for the Aged as
"serving human and communal
needs."
Edward Fleischman, as presi-
dent of the Home, described the
changes that had taken place
since the present building was
erected. He spoke of the neces-
sity for enlarged facilities.
Nate Shapero, as president of
Sinai Hospital, told of the hos-

Simons showed "how effectively

periodic visits by Sinai staff
members, its physicians, to aid
the aged at the home. "It is a
