Dreiser 'Tragedy'
in a Paperback

Paperbacks have proven their

on best seller lists and had made
their authors famous are now
being reprinted and have become
obtainable to a much larger au-
dience than even the original
work.

back popularity is the appear-
ance, from World Publishing Co.

a Meridian Fiction book of "An
American Tragedy," by Theodore
Dreiser. The paperback is en-
hanced by the introduction by
Robert Penn Warren who evalu-

The novel deals with many so-

acter who is interestingly diag-
nosed by Dreiser, who, as War-
ren writes, has "related social
