Southfield High School Newsline By RANDY ZUSMAN Orders for the Southfield High Yarbook "The Blue and Gray" are being taken. Editor-in-chief Audrey Diebel comments that the 1963 Yearbook will have an emphasis on modern design. The 1963 Senior Class will have a senior trip this year in Mackinac. The trip will last from 10 a.m. on May 24 until 1 p.m. on May 26. This is the first trip of its kind at Southfield. The annual spring musical at Southfield will be "F inia n's Rainbow," to be presented on May 8, 9, 15 and 16. Try-outs for the 30 parts will be held sometime during the month of December. The College Entrance Exami- nation Board's Scholastic Apti- tude Test will be given on Jan. 12. This examination is a re- quirement for entrance to many colleges and the scores are used in determining certain scholar- ship grants. Seniors Carol Caster, Dave Goldstein and Peg Luehmann are Southfield's representatives on the 1962-63 Michigan Chorale. The 65-voice choir will give sev- eral concerts on radio and tele- vision before leaving on an ex- tended tour. The Southfield basketball team meets Redford Union and Don- dero High School on Dec. 7 and 8, respectively, to open the 1962- 63 season. Dec. 26-28 marks the annual Holiday Tournament at Southfield High. All games start at 6:30 p.m. The Southfield team will meet Royal Oak Kimball High School on Dec. 12 for their first league competition of the year. Coach Hurd has high hopes for this year's success. The annual fall Honors Assem- bly will be held on Dec. 19. At this time seniors and juniors are honored for their performances during the 1961-62 school year.
