Levinson to Discuss Home Financing on NBC's Monitor Radio Detroit's Ben Levinson will be interviewed in a 15-minute conversation Sunday for t h e Fiberglas Home Show on NBC's Monitor Radio (WWJ). Levinson is president of the Franklin Mortgage Corporation. Dr. Norman Kurland Named to Post in N. Y. Education Dept. Dr. Norman D. Kurland of Detroit has been named as con- sultant for the New York State Education Department in the area of equivalency-proficiency examinations. The appointment was an- nounced by Dr. James E. Allen, Jr., New York State Commis- sioner of Education. In his new assignment, Kur- land will have responsibility for the development of a system of equivalency-proficiency exam- inations for the large number of college students doing col- lege level work by independent study and in television courses. Kurland received his Ph.B. degree from the University of Chicago and his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Michigan, where he taught his- tory. His most recent position before accepting the appoint- ment in New York was that of associate director of the Inter- University Committee on the Superior Student at the Univer- sity of Colorado.
