Mordecai Teller, director of
the :Abraham Reisen Jewish
School, will give a series of lec-
tures in Jewish History to mem-
bers of the Workmen's Circle
Golden Ring Club.
These courses will be given
on the first and third Wednes-
days of each month, starting
Oct. 3, 1 p.m., at the group's
meetings at the Workmen's Cir-
cle Educaitonal Center, 18340
W. 7-Mile.
The lectures will be in Yid-
dish. The public is invited with-
out charge.

The Detroit Service Group
1962 Israel Survey Tour, which
leaves Detroit for Paris and Is-
rael on Oct. 9, will number 46
workers and leaders in the Jew-
ish Welfare Federation's annual
Allied Jewish Campaign..
Milton J. Miller, tour chair
man, reports that the 1962 Tour
will differ from previous Service
Group missions by beginning in
Paris. The staff of the Joint Dis-
tribution Committee, the agency
that serves Jews in need over-
seas, will hold meetings with the
tour members in Paris to discuss

for Children's Play

Tour members will visit tem-
porary housing and feeding fa-
cilities that the Joint Distribu-
tion Committee has established
in France to serve Jews who
must leave Algeria. The Israel
portion of the tour will include
an all-day trip to Eilat, in Is-
rael's southern tip.
Members of the tour will give
particular attention to programs
and facilities the Allied Jewish
Campaign helps to finance. They
include the Weitzman Institute
of Science at Rehovot, HIAS
House near Beer Sheeba, instal-
lations of ORT and the Hebrew
Universtiy in Jerusalem.

U-M Professor to Speak to James Pepper PTA

The Jewish Theater for Chil-
dren is offering a prize of $1,000
for the best full length play for I
children in English on a Jewish
theme, according to an
announcement made by Philip
Kasakove, chairman of the
theater. This is the seventh
annual prize in the Golden Pen
Playwriting Contest.
Funds for the prize are made
available by Norma U. Levitt, a
member of the theater's board
of directors.
Prize winning manuscripts
are also given a professional
production.
Manuscripts for the 192 com-
petition must be submitted no
later than April 15. Rules may
be obtained by writing to the
Jewish Theater for Children,
426 W 58 St., New York 19.
