Synagogues Appeal
for Beth Yehudah
A number of Detroit congre-
gations responded to the call
of the Council of Orthodox
Rabbis to hold High Holiday
appeals for the scholarship
fund of Yeshivath Beth Yehu-
dah.
Pointing out "the close inter-
dependence between Torah edu-
cation and congregational wel-
fare," the rabbis issued a
proclamation calling "on all
congregations to schedule ap-
peals, and on all our brethren
to respond with utmost warmth
and generosity."
Morris Dorn, chairman of the
Yeshivah's Synagogue Council,
stressed the appropriateness of
Yizkor as a time for assuming
this responsibility.
