ATLANTA, (JTA) — Samuel H. Rosenberg, executive direc- tor of the Atlanta Bureau of Jewish Education, died here Sept. 9. He was 57 years old. He came to Atlanta to head up the Bureau in 1949 after having served as educational director of congregations in Rochester, N.Y., New Haven, Conn., Jacksonville, Fla., and Buffalo, N.Y. He was a member of the board of the National Council for Jew- ish Education, which is made up of professional Jewish educators and worked very closely with the American Association for Jewish Education. He was par- ticularly instrumental in the de- velopment here of a Hebrew High School and an Institute of Jewish Studies. Recently he in- itiated an Adult Education Council. Max Zuckerberg Dies Joseph Haggai, Prominent Hebrew Educator and Zionist Leader, Dies Joseph Haggai, of 20276 Schaeffer,' one of the most prom- inent Hebrew educators in Amer- ica, who for many years was a top-ranking labor Zionist leader, died Wednes- day at the age of 74. One of the founders of the Labor Zionist movement in De- troit and the organization's most eloquent orator in the Middle West, the late Mr. Haggai be- came nationally famous for his devoted efforts in behalf of the Zionist cause. He was among the most ac- tive participants in efforts for the Jewish National Fund and campaigned for Zionist causes, at the same time striving for cultural advancement through the movement.
