Treat Your Family to Only the Best

Old Children's Classic

The only pigs that are "kosh-
er" are the pigs in "The Three
Little Pigs," the story that has
gained more popularity than any
other among youngsters of all
faiths, all races, all nationality
backgrounds.
Therefore, the version in verse
by an unknown author, published
by Viking Press (625 Madison,
NY22), with charming illustra-
tions by William Pene Du Bois,
has special merit.
The publishers trace these
verses to a visit by a girl in the
Midwest to a neighbor who read
to her aloud these verses. The
enchanted five-year-old memo-
rized the entire story, never
dreaming that she would grow
up to be a Viking editor who can
still recite the poems verbatim.
The result of this experience
is this book. It will enchant all
young readers and listeners by
the fanciful knots in the tail and
the interesting rhymes which al-
ways inspire children's desire to
make up their own poems. Here's
proof that a popular story never
dies and new versions always
have a new audience.
