Conservative Synagogue Leaders
to Meet Under Seminary Auspices

A supper planning meeting it sponsors a Leaders Training

of Conservative synagogue lead-
ers will be held under the
auspices of the Jewish Theologi-
cal Seminary of America at
Adas Shalom Congregation on
Tuesday.
Participants will be the presi-
dents, rabbis, Seminary chair-
men and other leaders of nine
congregations in the Detroit
metropolitan area. The congre-
gations are Adas Shalom, Aha-
vas Achim, Beth Aaron, Beth
Moses, Beth Shalom, Bnai
Moshe, Bnai Israel of Pontiac,
Livonia Jewish Congregation
and Shaarey Zedek. Irwin Cohn
and David Safran will serve as
hosts.
The Seminary, located in New
York City's M orningside
Heights, is the world-fountain-
head of Conservative Judaism.
It trains rabbis, cantors, He-
brew teachers and other com-
munity leaders. In addition to
its system of Ramah Camps,

and produces the award-win-
ing Eternal Light radio and
TV programs.

and communal activities includ-
ing the United Jewish Appeal,
Federation of Jewish Philanthro-
pies, Maimonides Hospital, Uni-

a member of Yeshiva Univer-
sity's President's Council since
1959.

penniless in 1939, gave Yeshiva
University $2,000,000 to develop
its Graduate School of Science.
The gift by the Belfer Founda-
tion will be used by the univer-
sity to expand its graduate
programs in mathematics and

the school in honor of Belfer
