Jewish • Groups Are' R epresentect at UN
UNITED NATIONS, N.Y.,
(JTA)—Two representatives of
world Jewish organizations that
hold consultative status at the
United Nations were elected to
leadership positions in the Con-
ference of Non-Governmental
Organizations.
The conference includes rep-
resentatives_ of npward of 170
non-governmental organizations
accredited by the UN, and is
headed by an executive commit-
tee pf 18.
Alexander Salzman, UN rep-
resentative of the Consultative
Council of Jewish Organiza-
tions, was chosen rapporteur for
the year 1962-63. The Council
embraces the UN activities of
the American Jewish Commit-
tee, the Anglo-Jewish Associa-
tion and Alliance Israelite Urn-
verselle. At the same meeting,
Henry H. Grossman, World Jew-
ish C o n g r e s s representative
here, was elected a member of
the Conference executive com-
mittee. The executive commit-
tee acts as the liaison and ad-
visory group for the non-gov-
ernmental organizations.
