cial properties in August for
$1,358,801. This compares with
134 sales in July for $1,563,200
and 112 sales in August last year
totaling $1,227,400.
This decrease in August vol-
ume does not necessarily indi-
cate a slower real estate market.
August traditionally is less ac-
tive than other months due
largely to its being "vacation"
month.
In many real estate offices
the need is for more listings. In
our offices, while our sales are
up 26 per cent over last year
we have taken 14 per cent fewer
listings. Our percentage of sales
to listings has increased 12 per
cent.
