Goslawa Stybel Dies;
Widow of Culturalist

NEW YORK, (JTA) — Gos-
lawa Stybel, wife of the late
Abraham Joseph Stybel who
§pent more than $1,000,000 in
promoting Hebrew culture in
the Diaspora by publishing the
"Hatkufah" and works of He-
brew writers, died Sept. 4.
She was active in the Club
of Polish Jews in New York as
a member of the executive, and
supported the causes in which
her late husband was interest-
ed. *A street in Tel Aviv was
named after Stybel in recogni-
tion of his patronage of the
modern Hebrew literature.

LONG BRANCH, N.J., (JTA)
—Ralph Gore, a prominent Jew-
ish attorney and oil indus-
trialist, and an active Jewish
communal leader, died here
Sept. 2 at the age of 53.
A graduate of Harvard Law
School, Gore was active in the
work of the Federation of Jew-
ish Philanthropies in New
York, and was a member of the
board of the Jewish Child Care
Association.

Samuel Margules, who en-
deared himself to World War II
troops as Rami-Sami the mag-
gician, died Aug. 24 in Hunting-
ton, L. I.; in N. Y., at the age
of 66.
He was president of Hunting-
ton Auto Parts, Inc., a business
to which he returned with the
diminished demand for stage
magic with the advent of tele-
vision.
Margules had been the asso-
ciate of such renowned magi-
cians as Dunninger and Horace
Golden. During the war, Mar-
gules took his troupe on tours
of the battle fronts in Europe
and Asia.
