MRS. MILTON RUZUMNA

Helene Marcia Schwartzberg
was wed to Milton Louis Ru-
zumna in a ceremony performed
Sept. 2 by Rabbi Jacob Segal
at Cong. Adas Shalom.
Parents of the newlyweds
are Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Alex
Schwartzberg of Birchcrest Ave.
and Mrs. Minnie Ruzumna of
Indiana. Ave. and Oscar Ru-
zumna of Norfolk, Va.
The bride wore a gown of
ivory silk peau de soie with a
mandarin neckline, sleeves and
molded bodice of Alencon lace,
a bell-shaped, floor-length skirt
with garlands of matching lace
and seed pearls and a chapel
train. A shoulder - length veil
fell from a cap of ivory hand-
run Alencon lace. The silk illu-
sion veil was adorned by ap-
pliques of the lace.
Mrs. Edward Ruzumna was
matron of honor. Bridesmaids
were Janice LeVinter, E 11 e n
Wasserman and Rafelle Rom.
Lyle Coleman was best man.
Ushers were Alan Schneider,
Joel Fenley, Milton Rotenberg,
Bruce Leitman, Mark Schwartz-
berg and Edward Ruzumna.
The newlyweds departed for
a honeymoon in the West In-
dies and Puerto Rico. They will
reside on Greenfield Rd.

Dr. George Barahal, professor
of educational and clinical psy-
chology at Wayne State Uni-
versity, will speak on "Achiev-
ing Emotional Security:" The
public is invited.

TEMPLE ISRAEL MEN'S
CLUB will feature a sports pro-
gram at its opening breakfast
of the season 9:30 a.m. Sunday
at the Temple. The affair is
free to all men of the Temple.
Chairmen of the event are Sid-
ney J. Newman, Jr., William
Brown and Gerald Sucher. In-
stallation of officers will be
held during a brief business
session. Headlining the program
will be George Wilson, coach
of the Detroit Lions, along with
Lion player Jim Gibbons. Wil-
son will speak on "Lions Are
Sure to Win the Champion-
ship."

SHAAREY Z E D E K MEN'S
CLUB will feature the leading
contemporary actress of the in-
ternational Yiddish stage, Dina
Halpern, 8:30 p.m. Wednesday
at the synagogue social hall in
a program entitled "The Yiddish
Stage — Its People, Its Plays."
Miss Halpern
will present a
portrayal of
the famous
personalities of
the Yiddish
theater, with
an introduction
to its dramatic
literature. Miss
Halpern has
presented pro-
grams in Is-
rael, London,
Paris, on NBC
Matinee Thea-
tre, and recent-
ly returned
from a tour of
South Ameri-
ca. She has
Miss Halperin acted roles
with starring acclaim in such
plays as "Pygmalion," "The
Witch," "Shylock and His Daugh-
ter," "With Open Eyes," "Mir-
acle of the Warsaw Ghetto,"
"The Dybbuk," and other s.
Critics have called her "The
Katherine Cornell of the Yiddish
stage." Dr. Lee M. Shulman will
preside as chairman of the eve-
ning. George Parzen, president
of the Men's Club, advises that
guests and friends of members
are invited. Theodore Baruch
and Frank Rosenbaum are pro-
gram co-chairmen. Refreshments
and a social hour will follow.

Hunt was appointed Territorial
Council librarian of Michigan.
For $100 a year, his duties in-
cluded the care and preserva-
tion of books as well as care of,
the corridors and halls adjacent
to the Legislative rooms.
