Linda Ruth Axelrod became
the bride of Arthur Merle Go-
lumbia in a double-ring cere-
mony performed Aug. 12 by
Rabbis Jacob Segal and M.
Robert Syme at the Sheraton-
Cadillac Hotel.
Parents of the newlyweds are
Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Axelrod of
Fairfield Ave. and Mr. and Mrs.
Ernest Golumbia of Oak Dr.
The bride wore a Bianchi
gown of silk mist fashioned on
princess lines. The sabrina em-
pire bodice and watteau sash
were of Alencon lace. Her silk
illusion veil was held in place
by a contour pillbox of peau de
soie. She carried a bouquet of
white roses and lilies-of-the-
valley.
Mrs. David Kaufman, sister
of the bridegroom, was matron
of honor. Sherri Golumbia, sis-
ter of the bridegroom, was
bridesmaid.
: David Kaufman, brother-in-
law of the bridegroom, was
best man. Ushers were Dr.
Harold Goodis, Richard Barnett
and Dr. Eugene Axelrod of
Cambridge, Mass., brother of
the bride. Richard Axelrod,
brother of the bride, was a
junior usher.
The newlyweds departed for
a two-week honeymoon in Chi-
cago. They will reside at 15080
Greenfield.

Kicking off the fall member-
ship drive for 1962-1963, Detroit
Council of Pioneer Women will
hold its annual membership
open house tea 12:30 p.m. Sept.
13 at the Hayim Greenberg Cen-
ter, 19161 Schaefer, announces
Mrs. Harry Levitt, Council mem-
bership chairman.
The theme of the afternoon
will be "300 Members new for
1962." Decorations are being
prepared by Mrs. Brocha Hear-
shon and her committee.
Members will be welcomed by
Council President Mrs. Norman
Leemon, who will remind every-
one of the coming National
Convention of Pioneer Women
to be held in Detroit, the first
in over 20 years. The afternoon
will be chaired by Mrs. Norman
Kanter, vice-president of organ-
ization and a former Council
president. The invocation will
be given by Mrs. Sarah Levin.
Guest speaker will be Mrs.
Milton Weiss, executive vice-
president of the Detroit Council
who has just returned from

Best man was Larry Letofsky,
brother-in-law of the bride. Ma-
tron of honor was Honey Letof-
sky, sister of the bride. Debbie
Letofsky, niece of the bride, was
flower girl. The newlyweds de-
parted for a honeymoon in New
York and northern Canada.
