The American Women for
Bar - Ilan University Detroit
Chapter will present their first
concert Sept. 23, 8:30 p.m., in
the Scottish Rite Cathedral of
Masonic Temple.
Mrs. Max Stollman, national
chairman of the organization,
and Mrs. Theodore Bargman
are the general chairmen of the
Affair; Mrs. Herbert Eskin is
concert chairman and Margue-
rite Kozenn Chajes is program
chairman.
The program will feature
Mischa Mischakoff, the celebrat-
ed violinist and concert master
of the Detroit Symphony Or-
chestra; Paul Olefsky, cellist,
who now resides in New York,
and Russell Skitch, Detroit's
leading bass-baritone, who will
be heard in two groups of
songs. The accompanist will be
Robert Bates.

A pre-concert rally will take
place at the home of Mrs. Tom
Borman, 1580 Lincolnshine, next
Thursday, 1 p.m. Mrs. Morris
Adler will be guest speaker on
the topic "Current Trends in
Israel". The entire membership
of the Wdmen's Division is in-
vited to the rally at which Mrs.
Eskin will report on the prog-
ress of ticket sales. A dessert
luncheon will be served.
Proceeds of the concert will
enable needy young men and
women to study at Bar-Ilan Uni-
versity at Ramat-Gan, Israel.

Honor Schaver's Memory Sept. 12
with JNF Project in Israel

Arrangements have been com-
pleted for the tribute to the late
Morris Schaver, at the public
meeting to be held at 8:30 p.m.
next Wednesday, at the Labor
Zionist Institute.
Rabbi Charles S. Schulman of
New York will be the guest
speaker and Masha Benya the
guest vocalist.
Ben Harold is chairman of
the event, aimed at inspiring
memorials in Israel, by the
labor Zionist organizations,
through the Jewish National
Fund, in memory of the de-
parted Detroit Lab or Zionist
leader.
A feature of Wednesday
night's program will be the
presentation of a certificate to
Mrs. Emma Schaver and son,
Isaac, signifying the project
that will bear the name of
Morris L. Schaver in _Israel.
Although there are many proj-
ects already in Israel, attesting
to the work of the Schavers for
Israel, this project will be the
only one expressing the senti-
ments of the Labor Zionist
Movement towards their lead-
ing member, who passed away
a year ago.
Harry Schumer is co-chair-
man of the Morris L. Schaver
Memorial Project Committee
which is now conducting the

campaign for $25,000 among
members of the Labor Zionist
groups and friends of the
Schaver family. There will be
no charge for admission to
Wednesday's program and all
are invited.
