Irving Schnip- per as its new spiritual leader. Rabbi Schnipper comes to Detroit after serving Beth El Congregation of South Hills, Pittsburgh, Pa. Prior to that he had also served six years as rabbi of Temple Beth El in Patchogue, N. Y., and two years overseas as a U.S. Army Chap- lain. He hold a B.A from Yeshiva University, a M.S. in Commu- nity Administration and Organi- zation, also from Yeshiva Uni- versity, and was ordanied by the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Rab- binical Seminary. He was the organizer and founder of the Suffolk County Hebrew Day School and the Suffolk County Council of Temple Youth Groups. He will also serve Beth Moses as director of its reli- gious school. The rabbi is a member of the Rabbinical As- sembly of America. Rabbi Schnipper is in his mid- thirties, married, and the fa- ther of three youngsters. They will be located at Beth Moses' newly purchased rabbinical res- idence, 19319 Westmoreland. The congregation will hold a reception 8 p.m. Sept. 9, form- ally introducing Rabbi" Schnip- per to the community. Prepare for Fall Term at Bnai David School The Bnai David School an- nounced that registration for the new fall term is now taking place at its office at 24350 Southfield, Southfield. Classes will begin Sept. 9 and are held at the Key School at Rosemary and Jerome in Oak Park. Sunday school-only classes are limited to the kindergarten, first, and second grades. Be- yond that, mid-week Hebrew sessions are required for both boys and girls. The number of mid-week sessions depend upon the level of the class. Non-mem- bers of the synagogue are also welcome and transportation to Detroit and nearby suburban areas is provided. The Bnai David Hebrew School has a stu- dent enrollment of over 400. Cong, Bnai David Launches Drive for New Facilities Harold Soble, president of Cong. Bnai David, Southfield, recently announced a calendar of events for - the building fund campaign which is being 'ini- tiated by the congregation. The first event of the cam- paign will be a Cook-out Kick-off Rally to which all members of the congregation have been in- vited. The rally will be held on Labor Day, Monday, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., on the grounds of the congregation, 24350 Southfield. Traditional cook-out foods will be served and a program of en- tertainment has been planned. In addition, there , will be a few short speeches explaining the de- tails of the campaign and the building plans. There will be no solicitation of funds. The rally will mark the start of the building campaign to raise $600,000 for an expansion build- ing pro gr am of the synagogue. When completed, the new build- ing will consist of a main sanctuary and a smaller chapel. In addition, there will be 10 classrooms, including a nursery- kindergarten room. It will also contain the rabbi's study, admin- istrative offices, a library and choir room. The present structure will be integrated as part of the new addition and part of it will be removed to provide for a large, completely equipped youth hall. In announcing the start of the campaign, Soble announced the appointment of the follow- ing committee chairmen: honor- ary chairman, Julius Rotenberg; campaign chairman, Morris J.
