A colorful parade has been
arranged, for the downtown
area, for Wednesday, starting
at 7 p.m., with all veterans'
organizations — including the
American Legion and the Vet-
erans of F or e i g n Wars
participating.
The luncheon meeting of the
JWV national executive com-
mittee, on Tuesday. will be ad-
dressed by U. S. Senator Philip
A. Hart.
Other nationally prominent
speakers who are on the con-
vention agenda include Lewis
Weinstein, chairman of the Na-
tional Community Relations Ad-
visory Council; G. Mennen Wil-
liams. Assistant Secretary of
State for African Affairs; Jo-
seph F. Barr. JWV national
executive director; Brig. Gen.
S L. A. Marshall, and many
others.

banquet will be held at Cobo
Hall Saturday, Sept. 1.
It has been announced that
Morton L. London of New York
is a candidate for the national
commandership and that Daniel
Neal Heller of Florida is a can-
didate for judge advocate.
According to National Com-
mander Theodore Brooks of
New York. the "JWV conven-
tion represents the culmination
of one year's administration
and the rebirth of another year
of JWV activity.
