BONN, (JTA)—The German
National Peoples Party, a dor-
mant, right-wing group which
existed during the Weimar Re-
public and voted to support the
Nazi Party after Hitler had
come to power in 1933, was re-
constituted at Kassel.
A conference of members of
the old party voted to revive
the group with the aim of hav-
ing it form "the conservative
conscience of the German peo-
ple" and build up a "truly na-
tionalist opposition." The con-
ference elected Kurt Hess pres-
ident of the party.

Great 'Ross' Play

THE MONTH OF JUNE will
witness the arrival of the first
permanent settlers at the new
development town of Mad in
the Negev, established with
the aid of the Israel Bond
Organization. Shown above is
the unfinished roadbed of the
new road, sixteen miles long,
which will link Arad to the
Dead Sea potash works at
S'dom. The first group of
permanent settlers in Arad
will consist of 60 people from
other parts of Israel and 160
newly-arrived immigrant fam-
ilies. Future settlers at Mad
will provide the labor force
needed for the Dead Sea
plant, which is expected to
hire 1,000 additional workers
by the end of the year as part
of its expansion program fi-
nanced by Israel Bonds.

One of the great plays of our
time, "Ross," the dramatic por-
trait of Lawrence of Arabia,
has been issued in book form
by Random House.
This great story, in play
form, is certain to attract as
great attention as a book to be
read as did the theatrical pro-
duction which has been ac-
claimed on two continents.
Written by Terence Rattigan,
this excellent drama recaptures
the historic spirit in the time
Rest experts say a normal
of the recapture of Palestine person probably would die if
by General Allenby.
he were forced to stay awake
Not only Lawrence, who used for 10 days.
"Ross" among the numerous
other names he resorted to, but
General Allenby as well as Gen-
eral Storrs, who was the Mili-
tary Governor Jerusalem, play
roles in this play.
It is an historic drama that
may one day be part of the
study of history during World
War I in our schools, and in
addition to being a great drama
Rattigan's "Ross" may some
day be a text book. It will be as
good in that role as it is as a
theatrical drama.

was filed before the Adminis-
trative Court of the State of
Hesse. The European New Or-
der, with a program that in-
cludes anti-Semitic tendencies,
had scheduled its meeting at
Kassel for July 8. The appeal
against the ban by Kassel auth-
orities was field by G. A. Amau-
drutz, of Lausanne, Switzerland,
general secretary of the Euro-
pean New Order.
