Insurance Firms Make
Loans for Immigrant
Housing in Israel

U.S., Israeli Leaders Participate
in Lyndon Johnson Forest Planting

To help alleviate the severe
shortage of immigrant housing
in Israel, the Massachusetts
Mutual Life Insurance Com-
pany and the New England
Mutual Life Insurance Corn-
pany have made available long-
term loans to American Asso-
ciates, a newly formed corpo-
ration, which will finince the
construction of over 2,000 hous-
ing units for Israel's newcom-
ers.
It is estimated that a total
of 20,000 housing units will be
required to accommodate im-
migrants expected to arrive in
Israel in the fiscal year 1962-63.
The units to be financed by
American Associates will be
leased to the Agency for
Israel, Inc.
