of luggage (Samsonite) and
folding furniture, has plants in
Ecorse, Denver and Murfees-
boro. Tenn. The Ecorse plant
was in danger of closing be-
cause of high labor costs and
taxes here, according to King
Shwayder, president.
The firm. which pioneered in
the use of plastic in manufac-
turing luggage. has found suc-
cess in producing plastic toy
construction kits. Benjamin
