Repertory and "tent" theaters
have become more than fads:
they are emerging as training
grounds for artists of genuine
ability.
The University of Detroit
Repertory Theater proved it
this week when two excellently
produced plays, Shakespeare's
"Hamlet" and Shaw's "Major
Barbara" commenced a five
weeks' run. They will be seen
on alternate nights, except
Mondays.

and peace and the difficulties
encountered by idealists in a
materialistic world.
In spite of the downpour
Wednesday, a nearly full house
witnessed the opening of the
"Barbara" run. "Hamlet" played
to a full and an enthusiastic
house.
