gist and former president and
director of Hebrew University in
Israel, will join the faculty of
Brandeis University. Dr. Mazar,
who held his posts at Hebrew
University for nine years be-
fore resigning in 1961, will be
visiting professor of archaeol-
ogy for the fall semester at the
Waltham, Mass., university, and
will be a member of the depart-
ment of Mediterranean studies.
He is married to the former
Dinah Shimshi, sister of Itzhak
Ben-Zvi, president of Israel.

Cream the margarine and Sugar.
Add eggs, one at a time, and beat
until light and thick. Add the vanilla.
Dissolve the cocoa in the coffee. Sift
together all the remaining ingredients.
Add the cocoa-coffee mixture alter-
nately with the dry ingredients, and
stir only until blended. Bake in a
9x9 inch square pan which has been
greased and lined with waxed paper,
for about 30 minutes at 350 degrees
F., until a cake tester inserted in
the center comes out dry. Remove
from the pan and cool on a rack.
