many. ---- Kurt Koeller, 54, a for-
mer SS officer and Nazi security
police officer, was sentenced Mon-
day by the jury court to a life-
time term in prison at hard labor
for participating in the killing of
Jews during World War II.
Koeller was charged with at-
tempted murder in six cases and
complicity in the murder of 28
Jews as a member of the Nazi
security service which was given
the assignment of murdering
.1ews in the Eastern Galician area
of Czortkow. Some 60 witnesses
from Poland, Austria and West
Germany testified against him.
