The first copy of "The American Jew in Search of Himself"
by Rabbi, Richard C. Hertz was presented by the author on
publication day to Mrs. Max Smitt, widow of the late president
of the Richard Cohn Foundation. A grant from the foundation
assisted in the publication of the book as a memorial to Max
Smitt. The book, published by Bloch Publishing Company of
New York, deals with the religious questions and doubts of the
modern American Jew seeking guidance and inspiration for
troubled times. A review of the book appeared in last week's
issue of The Jewish News.
