Judge Landau's Off-the-Record
Visit Here Utilized to Enlist
More Aid for Israel's Technion

Robert Brody and Judge
Moshe Landau.

During a three-week visit to
this country, on an off-the-rec-
ord visit in behalf of the Tech-
nion—Israel Institute of Tech-
nology in Haifa—of which he is
the chairman of the board,
Judge Moshe Landau, who was
the presiding judge at the
initial hearings in the Eich-
mann case, told Detroit leaders
of the importance of the Tech-
nion to Israel and to science.
Judge Landau, whose visit
was not publicized because he
wished to avoid the notoriety
that would ensue because of the
important role he played in
Eichmann's conviction — espe-
cially since he was here before
the Israel Supreme Court up-
held his court's decision—spoke
to a group of 30 Detroit leaders
at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Brody, 19560 Afton.
He was introduced by Ben
Wilk, after being welcomed by
the Brodys and by Jules Lev,
president of the Detroit Tech-
nion Society.
Judge Landau reviewed cur-
rent developments in Israel
and described the technical
progress made by Israeli insti-
tutions of higher learning and
research. He emphasized the

One of the Technion projects

A great honor has been accorded to us.
When the Givat Hayim Children's Home in Israel was established in
honor of Norman Cottler at the dinner given in his honor May 1, the sporisor-
ing movement, the Detroit Israel Histadurt Committee, honored the entire
Cottler Family.
All of us are grateful for this great tribute to the head of nve.fA-in ly.
We wish to thank the chairman, the co-chairman and all the sponsors,
and above all, our employes who worked so hard and diligently in arranging
that great honor. We also wish to thank all our friends who were not able
to attend, but sent in their good wishes and "mazel toys" with their con-
tributions.
.
We are thankful to the Israel government representatives for their
encomia.
Many, many thanks to all our dear friends, business associates and
co-workers in many congregational and commual undertakings, for participat-
ing in making this honor possible with their contributions towards the
children's home in Givat Hayim.
Signed,

The Cottler and Cohen Families
