PHILADELPHIA, (JTA)—The
rabbi should not act as a marriage
counselor because congregants
expect authoritative decisions
from rabbis and marriage coun-
seling is properly limited to ad-
vice, a rabbi asserted this week.
Rabbi Alex Goldman took this
stand at a meeting of the Rabbi-
Social Worker Group at the of-
fice of the Northeast District of
the Jewish Family Service. The
group was set up to establish
better communications between
the two professional groups.
Rabbi Goldman said the rabbi
was a "father image," represent-
ing morality and was expected to
pass judgment while the social
worker or counselor does not.
Rabbis Hayim Donin and Ja-
cob E. Segal will pronounce the
invocation and the benediction
at the dinner.

Faculty Post at
Northwestern U.

Benjamin Levinson, financier
and civic leader, has accepted an
invitation to become a member
of the faculty
for the School
o f Mortgage
Banking at
Northwestern
University in
Chicago this
summer.
A veteran of

business for 25
Levinson years, he will
teach "A Mortgage Banker's Re-
lation to His Economic and So-
cial Community."
Levinson founded the Frank-
lin Mortgage Corporation, of
which he is president, three
years ago. He is also president
of Columbia Investment Corpo-
ration and vice president of
Metro Acceptance, Inc.
Levinson is a Michigan Indus-
trial Ambassador, a trustee of
Maryglade College, an ambassa-
dor of Yeshiva University in New
York and is a former legislative
advisor for Wayne State Uni-
versity and the University of
Detroit.
A former assistant to the treas-
urer of the Democratic National
Committee, he is a member of
the Economic Club of Detroit,
the 100 Club, the Board of Com-
merce and the Detroit Mortgage
Bankers.
Levinson is recorded in "Who's
Who in the Midwest" and "World
Who's Who in Commerce and
Industry."

Reform Rabbis Support Israel's
Rejection of Eichmann's Appeal

NEW YORK (JTA) — Twelve
members of the Central Confer-
ence of American Rabbis sent a
cablegram to President Izhak
Ben-Zvi of Israel supporting his
refusal to save Adolf Eichmann,
the Nazi mass-murderer, from
the gallows.
This cablegram repudiates as
"unauthorized" the cablegram
sent last week by the Rabbis
Minda and Feuer in the name of
the Central Conference asking
for clemency to Eichmann.
The cablegram to the Presi-
dent of Israel was signed by the
following rabbis: Theodore N.
Lewis, Jerome Unger. Louis I.

The Parent-Teacher Associa-
tion of the Oak Park Hebrew
Academy will end the season
with a party for members of the
