David for an intercongregational
picnic 1-5 p.m. June 20 at Ken-
sington Park.
Cong. Shaarey Zedek will hold
a cornerstone laying ceremony
at the site of its new synagogue
home on Northwestern Hwy. at
Eleven Mile Rd., 11 a.m. June
17.
To be placed in the corner-
stone will be the contents of the
cornerstones of the congrega-
tion's previous synagogue
homes at Winder St., Willis and
Brush avenues and Chicago
Blvd., as well as mementos of
the first synagogue home at
Congress and St. Antoine
streets.

Leo Jung, of the Jewish Center,
prominent author and one of the
leading Orthodox rabbis in the
country. was honored at a testi-
monial dinner marking his 70th
birthday and 40th year in the
rabbinate.
A professor of ethics at Ye-
shiva University, Dr. Jung has
been president of the Jewish
Academy of Arts and Sciences
since 1950. He was the first
president of the Union of Ortho-
dox Jewish Congregations of
America. He has written or ed-
ited more than 20 volumes on
Jewish ethics, law and lore.
