Pinsker Aid Society Will Honor Weiner
The Pinsker Progressive Aid
Society will honor David Wein-
er as "Man of the Year" with
the presentation of a citation
and plaque Tuesday evening at
the Hayim Greenberg Center,
announced President Harry
Laker.
Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Katz will
also be feted on the occasion
of their 50th wedding anniver-
sary.
Weiner was chosen for the
honor "for his outstanding
Mrs. Randolph Guggen-
heimer, vice-president of the
Federation of Jewish Philan-
thropies of New York, the only
woman member of the N e w
York City Planning Committee,
will speak at the 16th annual
meeting of the Women's Divi-
sion of the Jewish Welfare Fed-
eration, at noon Wednesday,
June 6, at Tam O'Shanter Coun-
try Club. Mrs. Philip R. Mar-
cuse, president of the Women's
Division, announces that every
woman who contributes to the
Federation's annual drive for
funds, the Allied Jewish Cam-
paign, is invited to attend the
meeting.
A highlight of the meeting
will be "Sing Along in Pitch"
with songs written by Mrs.
Leonard H. Weiner and Mrs.
Herschel V. Kreger. Songs will
be directed by Mrs. Albert
Newman. Mrs. Ben Tolmich
will be accompanist.
Meeting chairmen are Mrs.
Joseph Jackier and Mrs. Daniel
Cohn. Members of the plan-
ning committee are Mesdames
Harry August, Morris Brand-
wine, Benjamin Jaffe, Sidney
Karbel, Harold Robinson, Alex-
ander Sanders and Isadore
Winkelman.
Mrs. Guggenheimer serves in
both planning and raising the
funds that implement the plans
of New York's Federation of
Jewish Philanthropies. She is
a member of t h e executive
committee of Federation, cam-
paign cabinet committee on
social legislation, and commit-
tee on fund raising. She is a
trustee of the Educational Alli-
ance.
Mrs. Guggenheimer was presi-
dent of the Day Care Council
of New York City since the
organization was founded in
1948 until 1960 and is now
chairman of the Board. She at-
tended Vassar College and
Barnard College and did post-
graduate work at Columbia
University.
