JWF Women's Division
Amends Constitution
The Women's Division of the
Jewish Welfare Federation will
amend its constitution at its
16th annual meeting at noon
Wednesday, June 8, at Tam
O'Shanter Country Club.
Mrs. Philip R. Marcuse, pres-
ident of the Women's Division,
reports that six changes or
amendments to the constitution
are proposed.
The f i r s t change suggests
that the board which includes
48 elected directors, all other
women serving on the board of
governors of the Jewish Wel-
fare Federation, and honorary
directors be expanded to in-
clude women who serve on the
board of the National Women's
Division of the United Jewish
Appeal and the national com-
mittee on women's communal
service of the Council of Jew-
ish Federations and Welfare
Funds.
Another change will make
the election of the division ad-
visory council more flexible
and not restrict its membership
to eight.
A pr oposed amendment
would change the constitution
to read "there shall be at least
two meetings of the association
per year rather than the pres-
ent three."
A n o t h e r recommendation
would make the vice-president
of the division more directly
responsible to the president.
T he la s t recommendation
clarifies amending procedure.
All women who make a con-
tribution to the Allied Jewish
Campaign are members of the
Women's Division.
