DIRECTORS OF FUNERALS Mrs. Jacques Back Dies Benschitnol Promoted to General in Brazil a a • NEW YORK, (JTA) — Dr. Jacob Jacobson, a prominent Jewish physician who had done important research in the treat- ment of chronic infectious dis- eases, died here Sunday at the age of 75. He was the discoverer of a therapeutic agent known as Jacobson's solution which was first used successfully in the treatment of loss of vision caused by trachoma and in the treat- ment of deafness due to infec- tions. Born in Russia, Dr. Jacobson received his medical degree from the University of Paris and, in the early 1930's he was sent by the French Government to North Africa where he successfully treated Arabs for trachoma. For many years he was active in the Mizrachi Organization in • France.
