Zedakah Club President Mrs. Maurice Knopper (center) with
Mrs. Henry Levett, hospital chairman, present the keys for the
above station wagon to Dr. Philip Brown, medical superintendent
of Northville State Hospital. The gift fulfills a wish of Rabbi
Solomon Gruskin, who states that many Jewish patients have
been unable to attend chapel services because of the distance
between widely scattered buildings on hospital grounds. Rabbi
Gruskin is chaplain at Northville, Ypsilanti State Hospital,
Milan Prison and spiritual leader of Cong. Bnai Zion. Zedakah
Club, whose goal is "aid to the indigent aged," counts among
its beneficiaries state hospitals, Penrickton Nursery and other
institutions.
