Fields Announces Contest Winners Abram Is Named by U.S. for UN Post

About a hundred prominent

Miami area paid tribute to the
memory of Daniel Persky, at
Waldman's Hotel.
Persky was cited by Sam
Waldman, Miami Beach hotel-
man, for his drive to make
Hebrew the universal language
of all Jews wherever they
lived. Persky died in New York
City two weeks ago.

Fields, one of the largest independent men's and boys' clothing
stores in Michigan, selling quality menswear at discounts, last
week announced the winners of its "Grand Opening" contests.

founding of Kiryat Zanz near
Nathanya, Israel—a townlet es-

of Kiryat Zanz, to the Prime
Minister, Ben-Gurion promised

(JTA)—Morris B. Abraham, a
-prominent attorney in Atlanta,
Ga., and active in Jewish com-
munal affairs, was nominated
by the United States delegation
here as the American repre-
sentative on the United Nations
Subcommission on the Preven-
tion of Discrimination and Pro-
tection of Minorities.
Abram will succeed Judge
Philip Halpern of Buffalo. The
nomination is tantamount to
election.
Abram, 42, was a member of
the American prosecution staff
during the Nuremberg trials of
Nazi war criminals in 1946.
Since last year, he has been
general counsel for the United
States Peace Corps.
He is a member of the civil
rights commission and national-
commission of the Anti-Defama-
tion League of Bnai Brith, a
