Richard N. Bluestein to Address
Denver Hospital Lunch April 12
The annual luncheon of De-
troit Friends of the National
Jewish Hospital at Denver, next
Thursday, at the Sheraton Cadi-
lac Hotel, will be addressed by
local office, located at 444 Book
Bldg., WO 1-2390, is accepting
reservations for the luncheon.
There are three requirements
for admission:
The patient must be suffering
from a disease in which the hos-
pital specializes (mainly chest).
There must be reasonable ex-
pectation that the patient will
improve.
The patient must be unable
to pay for private care.
The National Jewish Hospital
is now engaged in enlarging its
facilities for children who are
sick with tuberculosis, asthma,
other chest diseases including
heart defects amenable to surgery,
and cystic fibrosis, a disease
which affects many tissues of the
body.
Sinai Hospital Plans
to Sponsor Scout .Post

vice president of the hospital.
Maurice Aronsson, chairman
of the Detroit group, will open
the meeting. Herbert Aronsson,
vice-chairman, will preside.
Awards will be given at the
luncheon, in recognition of their
efforts here in behalf of the
62-year-old free, non-sectarian
Denver hospital, to Benjamin
Levinson, C. A. Harlan and L.
L. Colbert.
Ervin. Victor, director of the

Representatives of Sinai Hos-
pital met with Greenfield Dis-
trict Scout leaders to plan the
organization of an Explorer Scout
Post to be sponsored by the
Hospital.
A number of Explorers have
indicated "hospital administra-
tion" as their vocational guid-
ance specialty providing some
hospital could be secured as
sponsor.
Attending the meeting were
Donald Connelly, Henry Karpe
and Dr. Richard Kamil, all of
Sinai, and Jack White, District
organizer, and Ellis Courter, Dis-
trict commissioner.

will be Helen Mendelson, vio-
linist, Mrs. Allen Braver, and
accompanists Mesdames Her-
man Stein and Edward Zellman.
A dessert luncheon will be
served at 12:30 p.m. in the
Schaver Auditorium, Chairman
of the day is Mrs. Isadore
Mendelson.

hold an executive board meet-
ing g:30 p.m. Tuesday at the
home of Mrs. Clara Shaperio,

ships will hold its annual con-
vention, May 17 to 20, in
Skokie, Ill., with delegates
from various parts of the country,
including Canada, in attendance,
Dr. Ira Eisenstein, president of
the Jewish Reconstructionist
Foundation, announced.

major colleges and universities
in this country, will address a
two-day conference on the
theme "JEWISH PHILOSOPHY
— TODAY" beginning April 14
and April 15, at the Theodor
Herzl Institute of the American
Zionist Council, 515 Park Ave-
nue, New York.

The world premier of "MAS-
QUERADE," a new English
version of Johann Strauss'
comic opera, "Die Fledermaus,"
will be presented by the De-
troit Opera Theatre April 13
and 14, 8:30 p.m., in the De-
troit Institute of Arts Audi-
torium. The new version will
feature Marilyn Cotlow and
Marjorie Gordon. The role of
the comic jailer will be played
by Roy Lazarus. Valter Poole
will conduct the first-chair
members of the Detroit Sym-
phony Orchestra and the Severo
Ballet Company will present the
ballet during the gala party
scene.

new color documentary on "The
Ancient Kremlin Cathedrals"
opened Thursday.
The Central High School
