USSR Accuses
Adolf Heusinger
rf,

A demand was made by the
Soviet Union for the extradition
of Adolf Heusinger, West Ger-
man general who now holds a
leading position in NATO and
who is being backed by both
the Adenauer government and
the U. S. State Department.
Soviet charges were based on
"captured documents from the
archives of the Nazi Wehr-
macht." it is claimed in "The
Case Against General Heu-
singer," issued by Translation
World Publishers (22 W. Madi-
son. Chicago 2), which contains
these documents.
This large collection of data,
including photostats of impor-
tant documents, accuses Heu-
singer of guilt in atrocities that
were practiced by the Nazis.
One especially refers to the
shooting down of 100 persons
in the Slawnoye region. Another
mentions the operations by par-
tisans in the Osinovka and Alex-
androvo areas and at Gorodok,
and the shooting down of many
accused.
Heusinger is accused of coopera-
tion with the Gestapo and the
SS in areas that were devastated
by the Nazis. There are docu-
ments also to show Heusinger's
collaboration with Hitler.
German sources have consist-
ently denied that Heusinger was
as guilty as charged and it has
been claimed that he was among
the few who dared criticize Hit-
ler to his face.

Technion To Offer Course
In Industrial Design
A course designed to train
technicians in industrial design
— the first of its kind — will
open shortly under the auspices
of the Technion-Israel Institute
of Technology. The two-and-a-
half year course will seek to
train qualified Israelis to achieve
"an understanding of beauty of
form, finish and color, and of the
techniques required to achieve"
these ends."
