DR.
JUDAH
GOLDIN
Hebrew
University, visiting
lecturer at Harvard and Bran-
deis Universities, discussed the
roles of the priest and the
prophet in Israel and described
the conflict between the two.
"The highest pinnacle of the
Biblical religion comes with pro-
phecy, then comes the descent
with the priests," he stated.
"They are different, but they
complement each other," he said,
describing their polarity. "They
are two types, but the Hebrew
religion could not - have de-
veloped without these two types
of leaders. The problem of their
relationship lies in their public
activities."
Dr. Talmon was introduced by
Mandell Berman, president of
the United Hebrew Schools.
The University of Michigan
ranks fifth nationally in the
number of articles contributed
by its'faculty to America's lead-
ing academic journals.
